Gabrielle McMillan
Chief Executive Officer

Gabrielle is the founding CEO of Equiem and has led the Equiem business and team from inception in 2011.

Gabrielle is a strong business leader who brings to Equiem a successful track record in leading and growing businesses.  She has solid commercial acumen, honed across 15 years in executive level roles.

In her previous role as Director and General Manager of Advance Marketing, Gabrielle oversaw significant business growth (9 x revenue), expansion into New Zealand and the UK and international operations, including 180 staff.

Gabrielle is an inspirational leader, who coaches and motivates others to succeed and grow. At Equiem, she has built a team of talented and passionate individuals who are determined to disrupt the real estate industry.

Gabrielle studied at Monash University Melbourne, is a published writer and accomplished presenter.

Joseph Stokes
Chief Operations Officer

Joe is the Chief Operating Officer of Equiem, responsible for improving the operating rhythm of the business, enhancing the client experience and working with the team to address the needs of the global real estate industry.

Joe has more than 17 years of experience in risk management and operations, and 10 years specialising in the property industry. Joe previously held positions with General Property Trust (GPT) and DEXUS Property Group (DXS), most recently as General Manager, Customer Strategy & Operations.

Joe has a Masters of Business Administration, a Masters of Science, a Bachelors of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) and is currently studying Economics at the London School of Economics. He holds Insurance, Governance and Risk qualifications through the National Insurance Brokers Association and Chartered Secretaries of Australia.

Steven Leong
Chief Finance Officer

Steven brings over 15 years financial and management experience in the technology sector to the company. As CFO, Steven is responsible for the company's financial functions including accounting, audit, corporate governance and investor relations. He also leads the human resource and legal functions.

Before joining Equiem Steven served as CFO for Yarris, a leading SaaS company providing technology solutions to the telecommunication, legal and automotive industries. At Yarris, Steven played a critical role managing the capital raising and merger and acquisition activities. Prior to Yarris, Steven worked for an online company where he enhanced its value proposition and orchestrated a management buy-out. His professional career began at KPMG.

Steven is CPA qualified, holds a Bachelor of Business degree and Postgraduate Diploma from Monash University and an MBA from RMIT University.

Julian Boot
Chief Technology Officer

Julian has over two decades in the software industry, leading teams and companies building networked solutions. Prior to Equiem, Julian was CTO of Urbanise, leading the development of its cloud technology, which utilised Internet of Things (IoT) to reimagine service delivery to buildings and communities. At Equiem, he leads product development, managing business, market and customer needs to deliver our all-in-one customer engagement platform - the Equiem Portal.

Deborah Greenwood -Smith
Head of People & Culture

Deborah is the Head of People and Culture at Equiem, where she leads a team that provides strategic and operational support to the business in key areas such as engagement, talent management, communication and culture change.  A key focus of her role is the evolution of Equiem's employment brand to attract and retain top talent to the team as it continues to grow.

Deb has more than 15 years experience in Human Resources with specialist skills in organisational development and change management, gained in the Manufacturing and Retail industries.  Prior to Equiem, Deb previously positions with  Asahi Beverages, The Just Group and Borders Books, most recently as Business Transformation Change Lead. 

Deb has a Bachelors Degree in HR and Business and a Bachelors Degree in Japanese.  She is certified in Change Management and NLP.

Michael Reddie
General Counsel & Company Secretary

Michael has extensive experience in advising clients on all aspects of corporate and commercial law.  His expertise includes mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, IPOs, capital and debt raisings and related regulatory issues.  His experience also spans venture capital and private equity, corporate governance, corporate finance, joint ventures and drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.

Michael’s clients operate in industries including financial services, manufacturing, engineering, information technology, pharmaceuticals, distribution, retail, health services, food and agribusiness.

Tanya Cox
Chair

Tanya has more than 10 years’ experience as a chair and non-executive director of both commercial and not-for-profit boards.  

Tanya is currently a director of ASX listed BuildingIQ (ASX:BIQ) and OtherLevels Holdings (ASX”OLV), is chair of the Green Building Council of Australia and a member of the NSW Climate Change Council.

As a non-executive director Tanya is also chair of a number of Audit & Risk Committees and a member of various Nomination & Remuneration Committees.

A financial services professional for more than 25 years, including most recently 11 years as Chief Operating Officer and Company Secretary of DEXUS Property Group, an ASX 50 listed property trust with circa $17.5 bill of property under ownership/management.  

Prior to joining DEXUS, Tanya held various general management positions, including Director and Chief Operating Officer of NM Rothschild & Sons (Australia) Ltd and General Manager, Finance, Operations and IT for Bank of New Zealand (Australia).Tanya is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the St James Ethics Centre and is a fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia.  She holds an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management, a Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance and was a finalist in the 2005 NSW Telstra Business Woman of the year awards.

Lorenz Grollo

Lorenz Grollo is one of Australia's leading and influential property developers. As CEO of the Grollo Group, a family owned business, Lorenz heads up a dynamic company that enriches lives by creating unique developments and tourism experiences. Grollo Group's operations span property development, property services, construction, leisure, tourism, education and sport.

Lorenz is also a director of Equiset (the development and construction arm of the Grollo Group) and Buller Ski Lifts. He is an esteemed Member of the Property Council of Australia's VIC Division Council, an Executive Board Member on the Committee for Melbourne and holds a BA in Social Sciences (majoring in Sociology) from La Trobe University.

In 2010, Lorenz co-founded Equiem and is passionate about creating connected communities that deliver unparalleled value for property managers.

David Tarascio

David is the Chief Executive of Salta Capita.  Salta Capital has interests in companies spanning property development, technology, construction, hotels and real estate. David is also a Director with involvement in various start-up companies and property developments and has extensive experience in all stages of property development including acquisition, development, marketing and sales of major projects.

Salta Capital are part of the Salta Group incorporating the privately owned Salta Properties which has grown to be one of Australia’s largest private companies.

Benni Aroni

Benni Aroni B.EC. 1975 & B.LLB 1977 Monash University. Holder of Full Law institute of Victoria Practising Certificate since 1977, Diploma from Australian Institute of Company Directors 2003; Careers as Lawyer - Aroni Colman, Benni Aroni: Property Developer – Eureka Tower, Watersun Homes, Australia 108 & ors.; Investor – Equiem, Investorist, Estate Baron, Coincraft, Anglecube & ors.

Currently focused on assisting businesses to scale both at Board and investor level depending on value propositions. Extensive experience in range of businesses including service provision, manufacturing, retail, construction and finance. Advisor to Fender Katsalidis, Wingate Group, Easy Industries & ors.Sitting Board member and Vice-Chair at Saint Vincent’s Institute of Medical research and passionate about social impact and philanthropy, chairing internal Foundation.

Huw Birrell

Huw is a finance professional with experience working within and alongside start-ups.  He has advised public and private companies across a variety of industries in relation to the raising of capital.  He is the co-founder of Fresho, an online ordering platform for the food industry. He was involved in the start-up and subsequent ASX listing of LatAm Autos, a Latin American based online classifieds portal for the automotive industry.

Previously he managed capital raisings for Pacific Hydro in Chile, and was a senior member of the Ernst & Young Mergers and Acquisitions team in Melbourne.

Tanya Cox
Chair

Cameron Griffin

Cameron has 19 years of global finance and investment industry experience having worked in Australia, the U.K. and the U.S.A. Cameron currently runs the direct investments portfolio at Squitchy Lane Holdings, the private investment vehicle of the Fitzpatrick Family Office focusing on technology and financial services. He has previously held investment and advisory roles at Hastings Funds Management and EY (Corporate Finance).

Cameron’s other external appointments include Directorships at AgCap Pty Ltd and Tapendium Pty Ltd, an alternate Directorship at Latam Autos Ltd as well as a board observer role with Proterra, Inc.Cameron holds a bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne, is a Chartered Accountant and has completed the General Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Matthew O’Halloran

With over 23 years experience in corporate real estate, Matt is a highly regarded executive specialising in office leasing, development, and investment management.

Matt was most recently an Executive Director of Equiset Grollo Group where he headed development and investment management. During this time, he was a co-founder of Equiem and was instrumental in establishing the links between property management, tenant engagement, and the investment objectives of owners, using digital platforms.

Previously, Matt held senior roles at JLL and Cushman Wakefield (DTZ), working across Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane focussed on corporate office leasing.
Matt is currently Managing Director of Invest Lease, a company he recently started to provide independent strategic real estate advice across transaction management, leasing advisory, and development origination. He holds a Bachelor of Business (Property) from RMIT, and has completed the Real Estate Executive Programme at Harvard Business School.

Stuart Richardson

Founder of leading Australian early-stage technology venture capital firm, Adventure Capital, whose world-class team works with Australia's most talented entrepreneurs to see them successful in global markets.

Architect of an entrepreneurial ecosystem and open innovation platform bringing together Fortune1000/ASX200, leading academic and most importantly communities of startups, upstarts and entrepreneurial communities in Melbourne, Australia. Co-founder of York Butter Factory, Startup Australia (not-for-profit delivering Startup Weekend and other signature events across Australia), and Aurelius Digital. Stuart is a Co-founder and Director emeritus of next generation property technology and services business, EQUiEM.

Founding investor of breakout audio media technology Omny (121cast), leading FinTech Clover.com.au and electric motor technology, Axiflux.  Advisor, Board Member and Mentor to numerous entrepreneurs intent on changing the world and their early-stage technology businesses.
